Waarom ik gisteren dan toch eventjes terug krabbelde. Ik was kapot, gebroken. De dag ervoor tien uur gewerkt op hakken, nou dat verklaard wel een hoop volgens mij?
Maar om kwart voor één begon ik toch aan mijn suicide mission. Ik moet zeggen dat ik er van te voren wel een roze pilletje in heb gepopt, om m’n benen toch iets minder te voelen. En ik gooide er een paar verschillende astma-sprays en een allergiepilletje achteraan. Alles, just to be sure.
Gelukkig ging die twintig kilometer me eigenlijk nog best redelijk af. Ik had echt verwacht dat het een drama zou worden, maar het weer was zo prachtig mooi! Ik liep voor het eerst weer in m’n korte roze broekje, met alleen een t-shirtje. Ik heb nu serieus duidelijk zichtbare lijnen over m’n armen en benen lopen. Onderschat dat februari zonnetje dus zeker niet!
Alles ging goed, ik moest alleen niet stoppen. Ik was één keer genoodzaakt om te stoppen, ik werd gebeld en m’n hardloopprogramma gaat dan ook gewoon automatisch op pauze, dus ik moest ook wel opnemen. Het was pas na zeven kilometer, maar ik voelde me dramatisch. Zo koud op de maag, je weet wel dat gevoel wat je hebt als je op het punt staat alles in je lichaam, inclusief je ingewanden, eruit te gooien via de mond.
Blijven rennen was de remedie en na twintig kilometer had ik slechts een minuutje nodig om weer bij zinnen te komen. Serieus, nog iets meer dan een kilometer extra en dan staat die halve marathon gewoon op mijn naam. Wie staat er 13 maart aan de finish in Den Haag?
