Ik deed gisteravond om 22.00u mijn ogen al dicht, wat er in resulteerde dat ik om vier uur vanmorgen al dacht dat het tijd was om op te staan. Ik mocht nog even blijven liggen, en ondanks dat ik heel graag zo snel mogelijk ski’s onder mijn voeten wilde binden, was dat toch heel erg fijn. Ben ik de enige die het geweldig vind om midden in de nacht wakker te worden, om je vervolgens te bedenken dat je nog minstens drie uur verder kunt slapen?
Om zeven uur werden Roos en ik wakker gebeld door de buren, m’n ouders dus. Of we ons klaar konden maken voor het ontbijt. Maar natuurlijk, binnen een kwartier had ik al m’n tassen weer ingepakt, zat m’n haar semi-fatsoenlijk, zat er wat mascara op m’n wimpers en had ik m’n kleding aangetrokken.
Het ontbijt was zoals gewoonlijk weer amazing. Ik zou daar een hele dag kunnen doorbrengen, maar goed dat is natuurlijk een beetje onredelijk. Dus ik hield het netjes bij drie bordjes. Eentje met (heel veel) scrambled eggs, eentje met een klein beetje kaiserschmarrn (soort van poffertjes) en tenslotte heel gezond amandelen en goji bessen. Glaasje bloedsinaasappelsap, twee kopjes groene thee, en mijn buikje was gevuld, maar niet rond. En dat is dus fijn, want van een vol rond buikje wordt niemand gelukkig.
Het was druk op de weg naar Serfaus, maar het was drukker de andere kant op en dat zagen wij als een goed teken. Ik maakte foto’s, ik luisterde wat muziek en een kleine twee uur later waren we op de plek van bestemming, Serfaus. Mijn home away from home.
