Dit voorjaar kocht ik een prachtig jasje bij de ZARA, crème wit, military style, schoudervulling, perfect. Maar helaas ben ik niet zo perfect. Toen ik midden in de nacht op Schiphol aan een frappuccino lurkte viel er een vette klodder bruine smurrie op m’n jasje. Maar dat was nog niet het ergste, toen ik drie dagen later thuis kwam dacht ik dat ik met m’n vermoeide kop wel eventjes snel die vlek uit dat jasje kon halen, met biotex. En inderdaad dat ging prima en ik was zo gelukkig met het resultaat dat ik het belangrijkste vergat.
De bleek uit te spoelen.
Halleluja, de volgende ochtend zat er een gele bleekvlek in waar je gerust u tegen kon zeggen. Zo groot als een CD, op de voorkant van m’n jasje. Ik ben bij verschillende stomerijen geweest en die zeiden allemaal ‘kleine kans dat dit nog goed komt’ en ik durfde het niet aan, want ik wist, als ‘ie eenmaal gestoomd zou zijn en het zou niet zijn gelukt de vlek te verwijderen, dan is er gewoon echt niks meer aan te doen.
Maar vorige week dinsdag trok ik m’n stoute UGGS aan en liep ik door de dikke sneeuw naar de stomerij waar m’n moeder compleet lyrisch over is. Gewoon bij ons in het dorp, tien minuutjes lopen vanaf mijn huis. De lieve Turkse/Marokkaanse man begreep mijn probleem helemaal. Hij was ook niet helemaal zeker van zijn zaak, maar zei toch dat hij goede hoop had dat hij de vlek kon verwijderen. Dus leverde ik mijn jasje in. Vrijdag mocht ik hem halen.
Maar vrijdag haalde ik hem niet, en zaterdag ook niet en er ging bijna een week voorbij dat ik uiteindelijk weer m’n UGGS aan trok en richting dorp vertrok. Niet omdat ik eerder geen tijd had gehad, maar gewoon, omdat ik het eigenlijk niet aandurfde, stel je voor, dat de vlek er niet uit zou zijn gegaan. Dat zou toch best wel een verdrietige gebeurtenis geweest zijn.
Maar mijn twijfels waren natuurlijk nergens voor nodig. De grote lelijke bleekvlek was verdwenen, ik straalde, bedankte de lieve man minstens tien keer, de man straalde ook van oor tot oor en zei dat hij ook heel blij was dat het er uit gegaan was, in zijn beste Nederlands. Ik rekende slechts zes euro af. Nu zeg ik je, perfecte stomerij. Volgende week breng ik mijn kapotte Lanvintas, want Meneer is ook kleermaker en nu hij mijn jasje zo goed heeft verzorgd, vertrouw ik hem ook wel mijn Lanvintas toe.
