Lekker, relaxt, uitgebreid, ongegeneerd, decadent, culinair genieten van eten en wijn is een van mijn favoriete bezigheden. In Italie had ik dat eigenlijk nog nooit gedaan. Natuurlijk eet ik pizza’s, pasta’s en gelato’s alsof mijn leven er vanaf hangt, maar dat is anders..
Nadat ik een paar dagen met mijn ouders, broertje en zusje weg was kwam ook mijn vriend een paar dagen langs. En dat was het moment om Italië ook eens culinair te gaan ontdekken.
We kozen een restaurantje, Golden View genaamd, aan het water, vlak naast de Ponte Vecchio. En het uitzicht was inderdaad Golden, misschien een klein beetje toeristisch, maar dat was het menu gelukkig niet.
We deelden eerst een bord met verschillende tartaren van vis. Zwaardvis, tonijn en zalm. Onwijs lekker, heel anders dan ik het normaal eet, maar niet minder lekker. Als hoofdgerecht had ik een risotto met gamba’s en at m’n vriend spaghetti vongele, met venusschelpjes dus. Voor beide gerechten geld, nog nooit zo lekker gegeten. De risotto leek heel veel, maar doordat het niet doordrenkt was van room viel dat heel erg mee. De Spaghetti vongele was een hele onderneming, zoveel schelpjes! Maar echt, iedere hap was goddelijk. De spaghetti was perfect op smaak, iets wat ik niet vaak meemaak met een blanke saus. En dan het dessert, ik had panna cotta. Serieus nog nooit gegeten, maar als ze allemaal zo smaken.. dan ben ik dus fan. Vriendje had drie bereidingen van pure chocolade.. Ook onwijs goed, zeker met zijn zoete wijn erbij…
Ik heb ieder moment genoten, zelfs mijn bezoekjes aan het toilet waren een feest. Prachtig dat marmer en, niet geheel onbelangrijk.. nog nooit zo’n schone wc in Italië gezien!
Hmmmmm alleen voor dit restaurant zou ik zo weer op het vliegtuig stappen!
