Avonden waar je van te voren geen voorstelling van hebt, dat zijn de beste. Geen mening, maar feit. Zondag was m’n vriend jarig, dus moest er zaterdagavond een glaasje bubbels gedronken worden. Het was de eerste zaterdag uit mijn werkcarrière dat ik al om 23.00u klaar was (een bruiloft met 85 jonge kinderen heeft ook z’n voordelen) en dus zat ik iets voor twaalven met een glas bubbels in mijn hand bij het schattige tentje ‘Grapes & Olives’ achter de Paleistuinen in Den Haag.
We waren met een paar collega’s en langzaam druppelden er nog meer collega’s binnen. Het was zo ontzettend gezellig dat ik wijn dronk alsof ik Groene Thee dronk. Dat was niet zo’n fantastisch plan, zeker omdat ik normaal eigenlijk niet meer dan twee glaasjes drink en zelfs die avonden komen nog maar zelden voor. Maar zaterdagnacht had ik er geen last van. We laughed, we drank, we talked, we ate and drank some more. Toen Grapes & Olives sloot verplaatsten wij ons van de Paleistuinen naar Het Plein, Millers om precies te zijn. Daar bestelde één van mijn collega’s een veel te grote fles rosé en oh, zo verschrikkelijk vies als ik rosé normaal vind, zo lekker vond ik hem zaterdagnacht.
Om half vijf lag ik, na 2 liter water, in bed. Om 9.00u werd ik betrekkelijk helder wakker, maar oh oh.. ik zou beter geweten moeten hebben.. Na twee uur stortte mijn maag volledig in. Ik had geen last van de meneer met de hamer, maar van de man met de wasmachine. M’n vriend was jarig en ’s middags zou de visite komen. Nou lieve mensen, die arme jongen heeft in z’n eentje het huis 5(!) uur lang opgeruimd terwijl ik vanuit mijn bed alsmaar jammerde dat het me zo speet dat ik niet hielp en ongezellig was. Voor de familie heb ik gezellig gedaan en ’s avonds zijn we samen ook Chinees gaan eten, maar toen we thuis op de bank een filmpje keken ging het helaas weer mis.
En dat is, lieve lezers, de reden dat ik het altijd maar gewoon verstandig bij twee glaasjes houd.
Staat Remco ook op 1 van die foto’s? :-P ‘Leuk’ om te lezen dat ik niet de enige ben die niet tegen alcohol kan, haha ;-)

Tja…ik denk ook altijd weer na zo’n nacht: never again…Maar op de een of andere manier bevind ik me dan een aantal weken later toch altijd weer ergens met een glas in mijn hand :-)
