Als die-hard Laguna Beach & The Hills fan kon ik het natuurlijk niet laten om de stijlbijbel van Lauren aan te schaffen. Dus stapte ik gister op de fiets en reed ik naar Den Haag, ja lieve lezers, speciaal voor een boek fietste ik door weer en wind 45 minuten heen en een uur (tegenwind) terug. (Dat ik een tussenstop maakte bij H&M en m’n voornemen nog verder ter zielen bracht laat ik even achterwege)
Goed, het boek. Toen ik thuis kwam na die helse fietstocht kroop ik natuurlijk met een mok warme thee en kruidnootjes en het boek op de bank en vier uur later had ik het van cover to cover gelezen.
Het bladert heerlijk weg, het zijn mooie foto’s, echt Lauren. Je hoort Lauren praten terwijl je leest. Ik kwijlde bij haar mooie jurkjes, haar Chloe laarzen, haar zwarte suede Louboutin platformpumps, haar prachtige lokken, haar Chaneltassen en een prachtige Cashmere sjaal. Ik wilde het allemaal.
Of ik echt veel nieuwe dingen geleerd heb? Niet echt, het meeste wist ik ergens wel. Maar omdat Lauren’s stijl niet heel veel verschilt met mijn eigen stijl is het toch wel erg leuk om te lezen. Om het allemaal op een rijtje te staan. Ik dacht vaak ‘oh ja, dat kan ik ook wel weer eens doen’.
Heerlijk boek voor een regenachtige middag met kruidnoten en een grote pot herfstthee dus, en laat het weerbericht nou voor de komende tijd alleen nog maar regenachtige dagen voorspellen, en laat de kruidnoten en herfstthee nou weer volop te koop zijn..
