Na tien jaar vakanties in Toscane zonder een bezoek aan de toren van Pisa, was het natuurlijk eigenlijk wel een beetje stom als ik vier kilometer van de toren vandaan zou landen en dan er geen bezoekje aan zou brengen. De vlucht verliep niet helemaal volgens schema. We vertrokken dertig minuten later en ik weet niet of het aan het weer of de piloot lag, maar ik heb nog nooit zo beroerd gevlogen. Ik was vrijwel de gehele vlucht ‘vliegziek’, iets wat ik nog nooit heb mee hoeven maken.
Goed genoeg geklaag, na een paar mislukte pogingen zijn we de eindelijk in Pisa geland en ik kon mezelf strippen van alle lagen die ik droeg. Twee tops, een vest en een jasje met een sjaal en een lange broek en UGGS. Ja het was vroeg vanmorgen en twaalf graden. In
was het dertig graden met een zacht koel briesje, dus de lange broek werd ingewisseld voor een shortje, het vest en het jasje gingen uit en m’n UGGS werden ingewisseld voor slippertjes.
Fijn ook om m’n zusje weer te zien, in haar mooie zilver glitter shortje, en papa en mama al zo lekker bruin allebei.
Pisa was nog net zo toeristisch als elf jaar geleden en de toren stond nog steeds scheef. Maar wat was het fijn om weer even door een Italiaanse stad te lopen, stukje pizza eten, camera om m’n nek.. Zo grappig ook om te zien. Een aantal jaar geleden had iedereen een compact camera en waren de spiegelreflexcamera’s bijzonder. Tegenwoordig loopt bijna iedereen met DSLR.
Na een bezoek aan de supermarkt waar vooral erg veel bier voor de mannen, water voor de vrouwen, fruit en barbecue voer werd ingeslagen, was het tijd voor een ouderwetse campingborrel voor de caravan. De borrel liep geleidelijk over in een barbecue en here we are, aan de espresso en amaretti koekjes.
Morgen schijnt het weer een beetje Hollands te worden, plannen zijn er nog niet gemaakt.. maar ik verwacht dat ik de dag wel door kom hoor!
