– Waarom moet een voor mijn onbekend meisje van een jaar of twaalf, met een blonde paardestaart en een beugel op haar roze fiets, mij uitschelden voor iets waar zij op haar leeftijd nog niets eens over na zou moeten denken? Nee echt, dit snap ik echt niet. Het kwam vanuit het niets, we passeerde elkaar op de fiets en ze begon ineens te schelden. Dan vraag je je toch af of het daarboven wel helemaal goed zit, toch?
– Wat ik ook niet snap is waarom mijn zusje door een paar jongens van school, niet eens uit haar klas, wordt aangevallen met de meededeling ‘jouw zus heeft anorexia’, seriously? Ik ken de jongens niet, voor zover ik weet kennen de jongens mij ook niet. En daar komt bij, ik anorexia, hallo? Als ik er nou bij zou lopen als een gratenpakhuis, okee.. Maar nee, ik snap het niet. Jongetjes van veertien, waar houden die zich in godsnaam allemaal mee bezig? Is dit het aloude ‘meisjes plagen zoentjes vragen’ in een heel nieuw jasje, is dit een gerenatiekloof, of is dit gewoon onbegrijpelijk?
– Waarom dacht Hitler in godsnaam dat het redelijk was om ook de Verenigde Staten te overheersen. Echt hoor.. Ik kan me in veel dingen nog inleven, niet dat ik die dingen goed keur, maar ik kan ze vanuit het standpunt van Hitler nog enigszins begrijpen, maar dat.. Hoe dacht hij in godsnaam daar mee weg te komen? Hopelijk heb ik het antwoord binnen vijf dagen, want dan heb ik mijn geschiedenis tentamen en ook dat hoort bij de tentamenstof.
