Gisterochtend durfde ik m’n bed bijna niet verlaten, bang voor spierpijn. Maar in tegendeel, ik had nergens last van. Natuurlijk had ik beter moeten weten, die spierpijn zou later wel komen. Het begon al een beetje net na twaalven, maar ik zou met m’n zusje gaan hardlopen en dus negeerde ik de pijn.
Met m’n zusje hardlopen was nog veel leuker dan ik van te voren dacht (en ik had er al een hele positieve voorstelling van, kun je nagaan!). Ik ben niet zo van de rustige opbouwschema’s die je eigenlijk zou moeten doen. Ik denk ook, dat je best een paar lessen over kunt slaan als je conditie niet al te slecht is. Dus we liepen vijf keer vijf minuten met iedere keer een wandelminuutje tussendoor. Het ging niet vanzelf, maar je moet je zelf ook over dat punt heen pushen, en m’n zusje leek het wel te redden. Ze wist er zelfs nog een minuutje sprinten uit te persen in haar laatste vijf loopminuten.
Ik had het zelf ook naar m’n zin, want ik ging sprintjes trekken. Normaal heb ik daar een hekel aan, maar op deze manier was het leuk. Het werd pas minder leuk, toen ik thuis m’n schoenen uit trok.
M’n rechter grote teen, en m’n linker ’tweede’ teen waren er dramatisch aan toe. De ’tweede teen’ had een enorme blaar on top en onder m’n nagel. M’n rechter grote teen had een dode nagel en was gewoon heel erg pijnlijk.
’s Avonds hadden we een moeder-dochtersdate in Scheveningen. Eerst heerlijke sushi gegeten en daarna naar de Gooische Vrouwen film. Nou lieve mensen, ik heb gehinkeld, gestrompeld, ik wist gewoon niet hoe ik mezelf te voet moest verplaatsen. Spierpijn begon natuurlijk ook op dat moment kei hard door te komen, maar dat maakte me niet zo veel uit, over die tenen maakte ik me iets meer zorgen. De film was overigens ontzettend leuk! Ik was nooit echt die hard Gooische Vrouwen fan, maar deze film was nog geen seconde vervelend. Echt een aanrader!
Goed vanmorgen sprak ik m’n eerste woorden in bed, tegen de assistente van de huisarts. Ik wilde een afspraak, en wel as soon as possible. Dus twee uur later zat ik de wachtkamer, vijfenveertig minuten later mocht ik eindelijk naar binnen. Mijn geweldige (geen greintje sarcasme) huisarts vertelde me dat m’n rechter grote teennagel volledig verwijderd zal moeten worden. Geen klein stukje, niet voor de helft, nee helemaal. Ik schrok natuurlijk, want die twee prikken die dan in m’n teen mogen zijn echt hels, ik heb het al twee keer eerder mee mogen maken en echt, herinneringen die ik zo snel mogelijk wil vergeten.
Ineens viel m’n pijn toch wel mee en m’n afspraak staat dus ook pas op 8 april. Ik bedoel, nu heb ik nog drieenhalve week om hier onderuit te komen. Ik ben niet alleen bang voor de excruciating pain. Ik maak me ook een beetje zorgen over de zomer, want zo’n teennagel is natuurlijk niet in een paar maanden terug gegroeid.
Eigenlijk is dit allemaal erg zielig, ik wed dat er miljoenen mensen zijn die graag zouden willen dat hun problemen zouden worden opgelost door slechts het verwijderen van een teennagel.. Relativeren is goed, ik ben nu al op zoek naar hard roze pleisters, lak ik m’n nagels dezelfde kleur, zet ik misschien nog wel een trend.
